A DAY IN THE PROGRAM
The day begins with a large group meeting and introductions, then the daily goals are addressed for each individual stutterer and the focus for the day. Stuttering management strategies are demonstrated during this large group meeting so that stutterers are reminded of the skills they should be using throughout the day.
After the morning group, stutterers break into smaller groups with their therapist and practice skills before heading out to a group activity.
Each day includes a new group outing which vary from trips to the Hogle Zoo, Clark Planetarium, and Tracey Aviary to name a few.
After the group outing we return to Wasatch Speech to do a final group wrap-up and reflect on the day's goal and what to look forward to for the next day. Each participant is given a personalized homework assignment for that night to reinforce the progress made that day.
